MAXIMUS Awarded $15 Million Medicaid Contract by Indiana

RESTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--

The Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) has awarded MAXIMUS (NYSE:MMS), a leading provider of government services, a two-year, $15 million contract to provide enrollment broker services for several State Medicaid programs. The contract also contains the option to extend contract operations for another two years.

Under this contract, MAXIMUS will serve as an enrollment broker, providing call center and other customer support services for the Hoosier Healthwise, Medicaid Select, and Indiana Care Select programs. MAXIMUS will also provide these services for the State's new program, the Healthy Indiana Plan (HIP). HIP is a new affordable health insurance program for uninsured low-income adult Hoosiers sponsored by the State.

MAXIMUS enrollment broker services allow Indiana's Medicaid program beneficiaries to make an informed choice of the managed care organization that best meets their individual healthcare needs and obtain necessary assistance to resolve issues they may encounter in receiving needed services. Additionally, as part of the contract effort, MAXIMUS will be supporting the transition of current Medicaid Select program beneficiaries who are aged, blind, or disabled into the Indiana Care Select program. The Indiana Care Select program is designed to improve healthcare quality and outcomes for this specific population by providing care coordination services through care management organizations.

"This strategic award further solidifies our position as the nation's leading provider of Medicaid enrollment broker services," said MAXIMUS CEO Richard Montoni. "We are pleased to partner with the FSSA on this important endeavor. The State of Indiana and the citizens of the Hoosier state will certainly benefit directly from our extensive experience and success serving more than 13 million Medicaid managed care beneficiaries since 1996. Additionally, we are proud to support Governor Daniels' vision to expand health insurance to qualified Hoosiers by providing the customer service foundation for the new Healthy Indiana Plan."
