MAXIMUS Awarded Additional Employment Services Work in Australia

RESTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- MAXIMUS (NYSE:MMS), a leading provider of government services worldwide, announced today that its subsidiary, MAXNetWork, was recently awarded two new employment services contracts by the Australian Department of Education, Employment, and Workplace Relations. The Disability Employment Services and Green Jobs Corps contracts are expected to contribute approximately $10 million (USD) in revenue in the second half of fiscal 2010.

Under the 28-month Disability Employment Services contract, which also includes six option years, MAXNetWork will provide case management services to individuals with injuries, disabilities, or major health issues. Under the program, MAXNetWork case managers will direct a coordinated approach that includes working directly with attending physicians, family members, employers, and other members of the community to help individuals transition to sustainable employment and independence. Components of this program are similar to the work MAXIMUS performs for the U.S. Federal Government's Ticket to Work program.

For the 24-month Green Jobs Corps contract, MAXNetWork will coordinate 875 "work experience" placements for individuals in New South Wales, Australian Capital Territory, Queensland, Tasmania, and Victoria. The National Green Jobs Corps is a 26-week environmental training program that offers young people, aged 17 to 24 years, a combination of work experience, skill development, and accredited training to ensure they are ready for employment in emerging green and climate change industries. In addition to coordinating work experience placements, MAXNetWork will organize and deliver the Nationally Accredited Training to the Certificate II level, the equivalent of high school completion, for program participants who have not completed high school.

MAXNetWork provides recruitment services, counseling and training, and job placement in Australia and has been on the forefront of delivering solutions to the Australian government for over 15 years. As one of Australia's longest serving providers of employment and related health and human service offerings, MAXNetWork remains a top rated for-profit provider under the government's Job Services Australia Star Ratings system.

"These two employment services contracts represent an excellent strategic fit to our core offerings and follow last year's doubling of our Australian operations," commented Richard A. Montoni, CEO of MAXIMUS. "Helping disadvantaged people become more job-ready and obtain sustainable employment is a core competency for MAXIMUS. With an existing network of employment consultants and allied health professionals in Australia, we are well prepared to meet the employment needs of Australia's workforce."
