MAXIMUS to Discuss the Organizational Challenges of Implementing the Affordable Care Act

RESTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- MAXIMUS (NYSE: MMS), a leading provider of government services worldwide, announced that Bruce Caswell, President and General Manager of Health Services, will be a featured panelist at a Brookings Institution forum on the organizational challenges of implementing the Affordable Care Act.

The event, hosted by the Management and Leadership Initiative at Brookings, will bring together a panel of experts to discuss the organizational challenges of implementing the Affordable Care Act including building the state exchanges and, for selected states, expanding Medicaid. Elaine Kamarck, Director, Management and Leadership Initiative, Senior Fellow, Governance Studies at the Brookings Institution will moderate the forum. Mr. Caswell will be joined on the panel by Henry Aaron, Senior Fellow, Economic Studies, the Bruce and Virginia MacLaury Chair from the Brookings Institution; Joshua Sharfstein, Secretary of Health and Mental Hygiene for the State of Maryland; and Sheila Burke, Adjunct Lecturer in Public Policy, Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University.

"Health insurance marketplaces, or exchanges, must be ready to enroll consumers into qualified coverage on the first of October – a deadline that is approaching quickly," commented Mr. Caswell. "MAXIMUS is pleased to participate with these distinguished leaders and share our insights on how the exchanges can be both operationally ready and meet the needs of consumers shopping for and enrolling in affordable health insurance."

The Brookings event will take place at 2:00 p.m. ET on Monday, May 20, 2013 at the Brookings Institution’s Falk Auditorium in Washington, D.C. To RSVP for this forum, please call the Brookings Office of Communications at 202.797.6105 or visit: http://www.cvent.com/d/5cqb8h/4W
