MAXIMUS Notified of Award on Five-Year Jobactive Contract in Australia

RESTON, Va.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- MAXIMUS (NYSE:MMS), a leading provider of government services worldwide, announced today that its Australian subsidiary, MAX Solutions, has been notified of award on a five-year contract to operate jobactive (formerly known as Job Services Australia) by the Department of Employment. The new contract launches July 1, 2015. MAXIMUS estimates the annual revenue will be at least consistent and may exceed the current annual run rate on its existing Job Services Australia contract. The Company expects to provide further details upon execution of the final jobactive contract.

The jobactive service is the new mainstream employment program that will replace the current Job Services Australia program in July 2015. The jobactive service is part of the Government’s significant investment over five years to reinvigorate employment services to help more job seekers into the workforce.

As a top rated provider under the Australia Government’s star ratings program, MAXIMUS is one of Australia’s longest serving and best performing providers of employment offerings. Under the new contract, MAXIMUS will continue to be responsible for assisting job seekers to find and keep a job and helping employers meet their recruitment needs with skilled and motivated candidates.

In addition, the new contract also contains coordination activities for the Work for the Dole program. Since 2014, MAXIMUS has served as the Work for the Dole Coordinator in four regions, arranging activities with community-based and not-for-profit organizations. Since then, the Australian Government has moved to a nationwide program and under the new contract, MAXIMUS will serve as the Coordinator for 14 of the 51 regions.

“Across Australia, MAXIMUS delivers a recognized model of employment solutions in partnership with local community, not-for-profit and charitable-based organizations. Over the past six years, we have placed more than 280,000 job seekers into sustainable employment, achieving outcome and placement rates that are above industry averages,” commented Richard A. Montoni, Chief Executive Officer of MAXIMUS. “Our success in growing our Australian employment services business is due to strong ongoing performance and our ability to deliver the outcomes that matter. This contract win recognizes our commitment to finding new and improved ways to deliver employment services, while building on our track record of achieving outcomes for job seekers and successfully managing large scale programs to deliver on government and social priorities.”
